Methods of Bed bug elimination

Some of the methods that can be used for bed bug elimination are stated as:

·        Use of high temperatures

·        Isolation of source of nourishment

·        Barriers around sleeping arrangements so as to stop infestation

·        General house hold cleanliness

·        Setting of traps

·        Using dogs to detect infestation

In the case of visible places of infestation like bed frames, mattresses and cushions the use of stream is an effective means of bed bug elimination. Hot steam or rubbing alcohol can be sprayed on the bugs and their eggs as means of eradication. Using bed bug proof covers  is also useful.

Another method of bed bug elimination is to remove the bed that is infested and put in the sun temporarily for a period of time. This helps in separation of the host from the parasite and is also helpful in getting rid of the bugs from the bed as they are sensitive to sunlight.

Yet another method of bed bug elimination is to use petroleum jelly. Bed bugs slip over glass or metal and get stuck in petroleum jelly.

The most recent method is to use sniffer dogs to find locations of infestations and take proper measures to ensure elimination. It is important to note that unless proper measures are used in the disposal of infested medium it is very likely that the elimination process will fail.
